200 g onions
1 tbsp butter
1 dl apple juice
2 tsp Appenzeller Alpenbitter
1 tsp cumin
2 red apples
½ tsp salt
A little pepper
4 chicken breasts (approx. 120 g each)
½ tsp salt
A little pepper
4 tbsp sour cream
2 tsp Appenzeller Alpenbitter



Cut onion into rings. Sauté onions in butter, add apple juice and Appenzeller Alpenbitter and bring to the boil. Add cumin, reduce heat and simmer for approx. 5 min.

Cut each apple into 12 slices, add to onions, season and combine. Season chicken breasts, place on top of apple-onion mixture, cover and simmer for approx. 15 min.

Remove chicken and keep warm. Add cream and Appenzeller Alpenbitter to pan and combine. Divide apple-onion mixture between 4 plates, place chicken on top.
